TNT Motorsports 07/06/2011
The Evolution of TNT Motorsport Minicup bodies. Initialy these bodies were fabricated with polyester resin and chopstrand fiberglass. Tim Phillips came to SC Enterprises and asked if we could make more durable and lighter body. At that point we went from polyester to epoxy and then implimented fiberglass fabric in strategic places giving us a slightly stronger body and saving some weight. Since then we have implimented our new lightweight, high strength bodies with 4.5 oz INNEGRA fabric, 2 layers of 10 oz fiberglass fabric and epoxy resin. This makes the bodies extremly durable and a finished body with windows and hinges averages 32 lb. Tim has actualy been forced into the wall, and was able to go remove some Dzus fasteners straighten out the body support bars, returning the body to its original shape, and go on to win his first race. Innitialy several years ago some of our first bodies did have some issues of having release agent on the body and requiring sanding prior to painting. currently we use an additional pva process that removes the release agents from the body surface making it a paintable surface. GLS Super cups will be racing at M-40 speedway July 10th. For a complete schedual go to www.glsracing.com . SC Enterprises is a distributer of TNT Motorsports.
